What is Bagasee ?

Ever heard of Bagasee ?

Bagasee is a word describing a renewable resource -like sugarcane.

In the past sugar cane residual fibers were thrown out after after processing. In a newer process these fibers are a better alternative to making paper.

  • There is no cutting down of trees
  • Takes less energy to produce
  • No bleaching
  • Less carbon dioxide produced in the process

Probably the best use for Bagasee is in making food containers. The plates, cups and containers are biodegradable. They can be turned to compost in as little as 30-90 days. Bagasee is completely microwaveable. It can handle heat up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and is completely freezer safe.

This is a great alternative for many reasons. I think the biggest advantage is not having to throw Styrofoam containers in the landfill anymore!
